This curler has a foam core covered with fabric. It is not satin, unlike the rest of our range, and we are not going to pretend otherwise just to look good.

The reason is simple: here, the material does not do the work. The role of the rod is to hold a shape while the strand dries and settles into place. The foam gives the volume and the hold, not the surface.

1. Slightly damp hair, never soaked. This is the most important point: on dry hair the curl doesn't take, on wet hair it doesn't dry overnight and you wake up with hair that is still damp and has no shape.
2. Place the rod on top of your head, like a headband, with both ends hanging down on each side.
3. Separate a strand near your face and wrap it around the rod, working down toward the tip.
4. Add the following strands as you go, always in the same direction. Direction matters: if it changes along the way, the result will be uneven.
5. Secure the tip with a scrunchie. Repeat on the other side.
6. Sleep. In the morning, unroll slowly — without pulling — and separate the curls with your fingers, not a comb.

Once the strands are wrapped, a satin bonnet placed over them does two things that the rod alone does not.

It keeps everything in place when you change position — and nobody sleeps perfectly still. And it removes friction against the pillowcase on the lengths that stick out from the rod, where cotton catches the fiber and undoes the work before morning.

This is a mechanical complementarity, not a bundle invented to sell two items. The rod gives the shape, the satin protects it. If you wear nothing on your head to sleep, a satin pillowcase plays the same role for the part of your hair resting on the pillow.

It does not work on very short hair: you need enough length to wrap at least two turns.

It does not replace hair care, repair anything or make hair grow.
